Set of 2 chrome metal armchairs B34 by Marcel Breuer, reissued under license by the Italian design company Matteo Grassi in the 1960s. Chromed tubular steel structure, the back and seat are upholstered in thick black leather, stitched with saddle stitching technique of sewing with two needles, as per original design by Marcel Breuer. One of the chairs is missing Two metal hoops under the seat. These two Matteo Grassi chairs combine comfort and timeless design. Era: 1960. Original condition with consistent sign of wear with age. About MAtteo Grassi:
In 1978, Grassi founded his own design company, Poltrona Frau, where he concentrated mainly on creating high-end leather furniture. He is best known for his chair, sofa and armchair designs, which combine modern materials with traditional manufacturing techniques.
One of Grassi's most famous creations is the "Cavour" chair, which won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1979. This chair is characterized by its minimalist, elegant design, with a chromed steel frame and leather seat.
Over the course of his career, Matteo Grassi has worked for many renowned design brands, such as Cassina, Poltrona Frau and Artemide. His creations have been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries around the world, and he has won numerous awards for his innovative designs.
